What Syl is
Syl reads the Canvas calendar feed you give it and sends you a daily plan by text or email. Syl is operated by An Independent Student Developer in Irvine, CA. Syl is not affiliated with Canvas, Instructure or any university. Syl is a helper, not a replacement for Canvas. Your instructors' Canvas pages and syllabi are always the final word on what is due and when.
Who can use Syl
You must be 18 or older to use Syl.
Text message program
- Program name: Syl daily plans.
- About 1 message a day, plus replies to messages you send.
- Msg & data rates may apply.
- Reply PAUSE to pause, HELP for help, STOP to stop texts.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Texting is optional and is not required to use Syl.
Your account
You can pause your account from Settings. To delete your data, use Delete my data in Settings or email syl.support2@gmail.com. Replying STOP stops texts but does not delete your account. See the privacy policy for how your data is handled and deleted.
No guarantees
Syl is in early testing. Plans can be incomplete if a deadline is not in your Canvas calendar, and Syl may be unavailable at times. Syl is provided as is, without warranties.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, Syl updates the date at the top of this page. For changes that affect your use of Syl, Syl emails you before they take effect.
